Work Out Wednesday with Skinny Meg and Tabata

button

Today's work out is all about Tabata.  If you are not familiar about this type of exercise here is a little background.  Tabata was founded in Japan by Izumi Tabata. He conducted tests on two groups of athletes comparing moderate high intensity training with
high intensity interval training. The results were that the athletes training in
high intensity interval training improved their aerobic systems as well as their
anaerobic system. The athletes who did the moderate high intensity training only
improved their aerobic system and had little to no increase in their anaerobic
system. I think tabata exercise are wonderful because they are simple yet super effective!!

How to to a Tabata training:

• 4 minutes long (whole Tabata Session)

• 20 seconds of intense training

• 10 seconds of rest

• Total of 8 sessions or rounds

WHAT YOU WILL NEEDTIMER

Warm up 5 minutes of your choice and then...

Do each exercise 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off for a total of 4 minutes, then
move on to the next exercise.
